Show Log For Friday February 15, 2014

                                                     The Carpenters

Margaret sang a variety of Carpenter songs for Valentines Day although she did her usual “lyrical improvisation” which basically means singing any lyric that comes into her head. For “Close to You” she sang “close to me” and for “Top Of The World: she sang it from the perspective of someone who’s bipolar. Phil found the story he’d been searching for about a man and wife on a honeymoon in Hawaii and how she allegedly was bit by a shark and bled to death. No body and everyone has to take the guys word for it. Back to the Valentines songs, Margaret all of a sudden demed the lyrics to “Afternoon Delight” filthy and refused to sing them. Too many refrences to “nibbling.”
