We sincerely apologize, but we had to cancel the live show tonight due to unforseen difficulties with our videocast. It appears that the new Zencoder service that we use to stream the live show to Apple devices is experiencing a temporary outage. We are working around the clock with their support team to get things back online. Please bear with us during this transition period. We promise that things will be smoothed out very soon!

Oops, sorry… got it back.
Aurora Gomez, to answer your question, because they stopped working. It says ‘Windows Media Player cannot connect to the server.’ Streaming, download, whatever. The point is, I can’t get the shows to play in WMV or VC player. I also can’t track down any of the shows I had the dates of because they’re nowhere to be found.
Thanks for the response, Alex, and hearing me out. I hope this gets cleared up soon.
P.H.
Do you like this better than the old one? Hope they didn’t charge you an arm and a leg. Guess my expectations were a bit too high.

@Welborn: It’s not only Apple devices that Zencoder supports, but all HTML5 devices. It’s the way of the future! (or so they tell me)
Apple devices. Overpriced tech consumed by brainwashed shitizens. Don’t tailor to them.

Mr.None, What I don’t understand is, if you have them all downloaded on your computer, then why would need to download them again??
@noneofyourbusiness: I understand your frustration. I’m actually working with the Brightcove/Zencoder team right now on getting the live stream working, but I will look into the missing shows as soon as possible. I know for 100% certainty that we moved over every show from the old servers to the new servers, so even if they’re not currently listed on the Classic Shows page, the files were not lost!
The last time I sent them my concerns they told me I would have to download everything over again. That was last year. I’m telling you, the dates are wrong. There are major chunks of shows out of the archive missing.
Thanks for the laughs, Phil.
As Alex has said, send any and all your concerns to the Contact us, tab above…that’s what I’ve been doing
All the archives I have tried work.
Thank you Alex, everybody just needs to settle down, and stop flipping their wig
everything is gonna be Ironed out
Sorry, I meant to say two hours, not three in previous statement. I’m a bit overwhelmed at waking up to find everything in my download library GONE.
Okay then, for an example, I go to the Sept. 2005 folder and there’s ONE show. Why are there no November and December 2005 folders at all? Am I just missing something? The search bar takes me to things that are totally irrelevant to my search queries.
I go to December 25, 2002 to listen to a show that I know begins with Alf Berrardi as a secret santa. Well, then why does it now open with music Phil only uses on the new show, and it’s only two hours, not five??? Are full broadcasts not even an option to download any more? Do I have to download everything by the hour now?
Alex — as always, thanks for the helpful update. Consider my alarm set. Out.
@noneofyourbusiness: I can assure you that none of the archives were lost. Please contact us at customer service stating which shows you cannot find and we would be more than happy to point you in the right direction.
@roberts: We fully anticipate having a live show tonight. It would take an act of God to stop it!
Thank you, everyone, for your patience.
I’m not here to fraternize. I want to know the situation with the archives and that’s it. Half of the archives are gone. Not a single file I’ve downloaded is working.
I hope there’s a show, and it would be nice of them to let us know,if they know,or when they know if there is a show..
Robert, you’re certainly correct about “perfection.” However, I’d just like to know whether or not to set an alarm to catch the show live tonight. That’s all. Thanks.
I understand perfection takes a little time. I’m sure everything will work out.
To Mr. None of your Business — based on your (obviously considerable technical) know-how, do you think there’ll be a live show tonight? Thanks. Out.
Are you working around the clock to restore the archives? I’m telling you guys there is like one show in most of those file folders sorted by month. Should I start preparing myself for the news that you guys LOST the archive completely or something? Seriously, I wrote down dates to avoid this and some shows don’t even match up with the dates I wrote down. There are hours missing. You guys blew this one bad!
APPLE PRODUCTS SUCK! Just sayin’. 🙂
I know its early, but: any word on tonight’s show? Thanks.
One day maybe we master technology. But until then there will always be those days when the computer was just being a bitch ass mother fucker.
