Phil talks about the upcoming Party Congress in China and makes a joke about Charlie Chan becoming the new chairman. Steve Bosell calls and mentions that he was listening in the car with his daughter April Jr. (who is named after Steve, by the way) and laughed at the line. Phil brought on Herb Sewell to comment on the history of Halloween. Herb mentioned that as a child he didn’t dress in costume for trick or treat. He dressed in a nice dress shirt with a tie but people didn’t give him candy he’d hide in their cars till morning and scare them.

Dr. Jim Sadler discussed the difference between horro moviies and movies that are scary but reality based. Among the films Dr. Sadler considers reality based (especially since a similar thing happened to his family when he was 10) “The Hills Have Eyes.”
