Episode #159: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The Show (from this point to be capitalized) started with a review of House of Pain (“They’re not Irish, they’re Serbian”) and the Dr. Ed Elcott Show that filled in on Tuesday. “He looks like some real creep to me, creeping around all over the place.” Phil talked about the hate mail he’s gotten over his opinion of the Opie and Anthony situation. “If you hate me the best solution to that problem is to stop listening to me.” News flash…. Phil remembered his days in Minneapolis when a local columnist thought he was a racist for doing an “urban black voice.” Five more Backstage Pass members qualified for a shot at the sold-out Phil Hendrie one-man show VIP package for July 30th: JoeyInTucson, DebbyHelf, BoscoH, SusanMaxwell, and JimSunrise. Episode #160: The New Phil Hendrie Show

More devil metal kicked off the show, more savage and impossible music began the show…with Margaret trying to be heard over it until she finally uttered the phrase “I shit you out…” Phil went into a history of the Phil Hendrie Show website, the various site redesigns and software changes…General Shaw talked about trying to listen to some media on the Phil site and how it sounded like a big mismatch of noise until “I was able to zero in on it. I said to Bud ‘what was the garbage,’ and Bud said ‘it’s the Phil Hendrie Show,’ and I said ‘oh okay.'” Bob Green came on the program to again defend Donald Sterling who called his wife Rochelle a “pig” in court during a hearing to determine Sterling’s mental competence. Bob said Sterling was driven by Rochelle Sterling’s meddling to go underground to look for women and had to settle for “this Stiviano like he was waiting in an alley for it, threw a few dollars its way and then went into a back room with a filthy mattress, held his nose and went ahead and did it.” Jeff Dowdder came on the show to comment on Phil’s website design. General Shaw wound up going through the phone and “dealing with Dowdder.”

Episode #161: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The show started with the panel chastising Phil for the music he currently plays because it “jars the nerves” and offends Phil’s “elderly classic rock fan listeners.” Bud and the General were upset with the sharp pronunciations of Margaret’s speech and thought she sounded like she had Tourette’s. Phil talked once again about why he likes hip hop. “There is nothing in this world more un-PC than hip-hop and I would think conservatives who bitch about the so-called PC world would be all over that.” Margaret and the crew talked about the possibility of a woman being attacked while getting eggs out of a hen house….Margaret mentioned a “large, lurking thing in a hoodie” near the barnyard… Phil discussed his nose and the fact its the only good-looking thing on his face….out came the Hendrie Home Movies off of the website and film clips of Phil’s mom and dad and their noses… Then came a whole half hour of ripping web site developers and how clueless they are…

Episode #164: The New Phil Hendrie Show

The Show featured Don Berman and Larry Grover debating Phil on the topic of violence in the black community and a newsman in New Jersey who is the latest white man to weigh in on its causes. Berman was talking to Phil from Marcy’s Gym in Los Angeles and was doing his “curls” when he decided to do one last one and herniated something. The line went dead as Don was asking someone to reach down into his jock strap for some reason. Bobbie Dooley joined the program to discuss further her husband Steve’s project of doing a hip hop song that celebrates cuddling and speaks openly of his dysfunction when pork is being cooked. In fact just the other night a couple down the street was having their annual luau barbecue and it was no-can-do for Steve…

Episode #165: The New Phil Hendrie Show

Phil and the crew discussed the passing of blues legend Johnny Winter and played some of his music. General Shaw demonstrated what he thought “blues ukelele” would sound like and Jeff Dowdder checked in from Mr Poo’s previewing a song called “Darkness at Sunrise Blues.” Also other attendant bullshit… Say friends, if you don’t have a subscription to the Phil Hendrie website, a BSP as it were (either the all-access or audio-only) you’re carving it up and not even leaving enough for the village. You are taking whatever money you have and rubbing it on a hobo’s *****! Why…when you can have over 10,000 hours of full classic shows and podcasts from one of the acknowledged giants of the comedy world (remember if you say it enough it’s true!) as well as live PhilTV transmission of every show and PhilTV and video archives as well… Not having a BSP is waving the white flag of surrender to the forces of No Brain. “Don’t do it, Barnes. Don’t do it. Ten years for killing an enlisted man. You’ll be climbing the f****** walls!”–Platoon

Episode #166: The New Phil Hendrie Show

Phil and the gang talked about Drake and all the money he has… As Phil chastised Margaret again for belching on the air, she made note of the fact that his “right hand doesn’t look as if its supported properly by his wrist” when he speaks. (Meaning limp-wristed) Back to Drake and hip-hop in general, Phil talked about all the money those guys have including Jay Z at 500 million and the all-time champ, Dr. Dre, at 3 billion after selling his headphone company. Another sidetrack conversation had to do with “beating off” and Phil’s alleged “beat off” hand motion. A Steve Dooley hip-hop project was also talked about, “I cuddle like a motherfucker….” Phil and the General got into talking about the show Air Disasters on the Smithsonian Channel which led to a discussion of how you land a plane when you’re dead.
