From Inside Radio–Most radio station websites have come a long way since jock photos and banner ads. But when it comes to a head-to-head battle with the social networking site Facebook, there’s still no competition.
A forthcoming study from Alan Burns and Associations shows women are 2.8-times more likely to have checked their Facebook profile in the last 24 hours than to have visited their favorite radio station’s website within the past week. The results are based on Burns’ interviews of more than 2,000 female AC and CHR station listeners regarding their attitudes toward radio, the internet and their lifestyle.
