From KTLA.com: Surf’s Up! PacSun USA Surf Team Preps for Competition this Weekend
HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif. (KTLA) — The PacSun USA Surf Team is preparing for the Surfing America Prime competition this weekend.
Team members have been practicing non-stop in Huntington Beach over the past three days.
The competition takes place Saturday and Sunday — rain or shine. A major winter storm moving into the southland is causing swells, and high surf advisories are in effect for Saturday.
The surfers on the PacSun USA Surf Team come from around the nation to represent the United States. A number of the surfers on the team come from southern California such as Costa Mesa’s Colin Moran, Trevor Thornton and Kanoa Igarashi.
So the surf is up; USA Coach Ian Cairns is expecting an exciting competition this weekend, and encourages surfing fans to come out and watch these athletes compete on the waves.
