One extra note on the diet talk. You’re eventually going to start asking yourself “why am I even eating this shit, when this other shit is just as good and less calories.” That’s why I say you’ll develop habits that will stay with you the rest of your life. There are some foods I consume now that are zero calories but I’m finding out are shit. Diet Coke is a case in point. It’s fucking poison but it tastes good and it’s 0 on the calorie meter. I drink that piss now but I know once I’ve got the rest of this weight/loss under control I’ll ditch it because I’m starting to think more like ‘why am I drinking that shit just because it’s cold and caffeinated. I’ll make some iced coffee’ That’s the whole ‘choices’ aspect of it.
Note: I just bought a bunch of eggs. I large, hard boiled egg is 78 calories. That’s pretty good. You could eat 4 of those and it’s just around 300 calories. If you split the 2000 calories up into 5 meals (which is what all of us should be eating everyday, diet or not, 5 small meals) it’s 400 calories a meal. So you can eat 4 hard- boiled eggs and still not be at that 400 calorie mark. Don’t sweat the 400 calorie-a-meal bullshit though. Eat what you need to. Just remember, at the end of the day you should have only consumed 2000 calories
