I’m heading down to the latin market……….for Sangrita….I’ll take pictures (yeah, sure…no I will…sort of…maybe) If you care to join us this evening as a participant…not as a student….I suggest a bottle of your favorite blanco or silver and a bottle of your favorite anejo. As you know, I favor Don Julio but Patron or Cabo Wabo are also Phil Hendrie Show-endorsed brands. No, we’re not going to drink both bottles and then see if we can stand up. We may alternate for taste. Also…and this is a must…you’ll need a bottle of sangrita. Get off your ass now and locate a store that sells it. If not, you’ll have to make it and that’s not a good option unless you’ve made it before. You’ll want ice, a cocktail glass (short, old-fashioned kind) and a shot glass. There are actual tequila shot glasses. They are slightly thinner and higher and (believe it or not) balanced to avoid spills. However, a regular shot glass will do so long as it isn’t one of those souvenir shot glasses that are extra-teeny with an asinine picture of the Carlsbad Caverns on the side. Later for that. We will be learning two kinds of imbibing this evening. Nothing fancy but you always need options and what I’ll show you allows you to enjoy tequila more fully…while your brother-in-law, who should never have been served the stuff in the first place, chases imaginary animals in your backyard.
