Jay Leno Calls In To Phil Hendrie’s KFI Show

Ate A Ted’s, Where They “Love To Put Their Meat In Your Mouth…”

PHIL HENDRIE‘s new local SATURDAY show on CLEAR CHANNEL Talk KFI-A/LOS ANGELES took a call from JAY LENO this week, but it wasn’t HENDRIE doing a LENO impression, it was the real deal.

The NBCTONIGHT SHOW” host called HENDRIE out of the blue to profess his enjoyment of the show, and played along with HENDRIE by talking about stopping by the show’s fictional “Ted’s of Beverly Hills” steakhouse and meeting proprietor TED BELL, the HENDRIE character and “inventor” of foil-wrapped baked potatoes; “The Ted” which is a rum and coke on the rest of the planet; and composer of a catchy jingle quoted in the photo caption.

“I went by his place and everything you said about him was correct,” LENO said of “Bell.”  HENDRIE responded, “I hope he hasn’t had occasion to rough you up and throw you out of the Prime Rib Room as he did with BRAD PITT one night.”  “No, no, no,” said LENO, “but he’s one of those testy guys, that everything is so touchy, you try to make a constructive criticism, but the guy goes crazy.”
