Classic Hour

Monday, April 16, 2018

We kick off a week of Art Bell bits from our BSP archives… three today. From December 1999, a demon lives in Johnson Jameson; February 2000, Art retires; and March 2000, Jameson talks about plane crash.

The BSP Classic Hour is from February 2006. Grocery store owner Bob Greene recently made large posters of his face with the words “Don’t Even Think About It” and placed them throughout the employee areas of the store as an incentive. Several employees complained that the eyes of the poster appear to follow them around.

Gen. Jamison and Igor have to be my all time favorite characters next to v-bottom boat enthusiast Dave Cavenan! Guaranteed to laugh till your sick! More please! Especially something new from Dave!

Hope the neighbors don’t think I’m nuts for laughing so hard. Eh, screw em.
It would be cool to hear when Gen. Jameson flies into a hurricane.
    RIP Art Bell.

    Hi Phil,
Getting to hear some of your Art Bell skits this week in commemoration of his passing is a real treat. He and General Johnson Jameson are probably my two most favorite characters of all the ones I’ve heard you do over the past 20+ years.

I had a strong craving for Art Bell the day i got my bsp and ended up listening to all the bits in the archive. Just so happened to be the day before he died! weirdness. Phil doing Art Bell has always been my favorite. Some of the funniest shit i’ve ever heard in my life lol

I wondered what Phil would say/do about Art’s passing. These are excellent choices.

There was an old rumor that Phil was one of Art’s frequent callers.. can the truth finally be revealed?

Thanks Phil for the tribute to Art. It was you and Art that kept many of us nocturnals company for a many a year.
From a roped off bar stool at the Oxidized Osprey I bid you a good day!

I always loved when Phil would parody other radio shows, either directly (Art Bell, Combover Boy) or indirectly (Commander Buck Negro, Barry “The Freak” McMillan).
