So Phil, you care about animals and cruelty issues but you’re going to reward some bsp’s with a trip to the track? An industry that has inherent cruelty. Food for thought.
I have to add on on all the positive comments. My wife always says that the only time she hears me laugh unreservedly is when i’m listening to Phil. I love all kinds of comedy, especially stand up, but for some reason Phil cuts right down to the base of the human condition in a way that i find hilarious. He is the best character creator in comedy.
Ditto. Well put.
Shit, can someone answer this question? Years ago, Dowder saved some kid named Billy Hawkins from drowning in the LA flood channels. Billy Hawkins made a “thank you” recording for Dowder that Phil played, and I always wondered who voiced Billy’s voice. I’m guessing it’s one of Phil’s kids (maybe Alex?). Here’s the clip in question: https://www.philhendrieshow.com/ph_episode/saving-billy-hawkins-2/
Totally worth a listen to hear classic indignant Dowder getting increasingly pissed off every time Phil played that “thank you Mister Dowder, you’re my hero” recording!
For the years and years of hilarity, thoughtfulness and pure art you’ve given us, thank you so very much. My father and I have been bonding over your show since he turned me on to the show in high school – dropping me off while listen to Bosell wanting to sue his wife over shitting his pants during the fourth of july fireworks was a turning point for our father-son relationship!
Now, if we could get a “Don Berman Investigates…” corner where he looks into Sweet Farms, that would be amazing.
Philip Stephen Hendrie has been my lord and savior since 1994.
Amen and amen.
Mark out!!
