Saturday Cinema: March 9, 2019 – “Rock, Rock, Rock”
General Shaw’s special guests are the Dooley’s, drunk, who bring on a wretched bit of 50’s gloss with a couple of good moments: Chuck Berry and Lavern Baker.
Holy Crap! Not one recognizable song. Fun to see the groups – some great footage of some greats, but not one good song. But that may just be me. But General Shaw’s indignation and outbursts of contempt make it all worth it. Just googled Frankie Lymon – wish I hadn’t.
God damn that movie was dullsville. Phil & co barely made it tolerable.
I can hear Lloyd singing “good sweet Christ I gotta rock”
The Chuck Berry tune alone is worth the price of admission!
I have to admit the music (by the real groups) is great!!
This movie is lame! I think that Margaret should have been the co-host, the Dooley’s are almost as lame as the movie!!
