"Best Of" Comedy Gold on the radio. We're back live on Tuesday. Happy Thanksgiving!

Ep. 168

Wednesday, November 27, 2013

Tonight Dave Oliva and Jay Santos butcher up a report on the Thanksgiving traffic with Jay running up and down the shoulder of the freeway on his Harley stopping at his "checkpoints." Ted Bell and Bill Bruford of Bruford's Turkey Farm argued over how each was going to roll out his commercial. Meanwhile David G. Hall liked the idea of the men combining their messages since Ted's is "We want to put our meat in your mouth" and Bill's is "Our turkey's are moist, tender and willing."

Ep. 166

Tuesday, November 26, 2013

Podcaster, comic and new media genius Jimmy Pardo joined the show to talk about the Pardcast-a-thon this Friday to benefit Smile Train. The show is sold-out at the Acme Comedy Theater in Los Angeles but you can watch it on-line starting at noon Friday. Click here. Later General Shaw debated Larry Grover about unarmed US bombers flying into disputed Chinese airspace.... Larry thought the Joint Chiefs put a finger in Obama's chest and told him what's what and the General said that's not quite how it works. Tonight Phil was also on air with hearing impaired radio host Debi Daley talking with her about cheese platters...a conversation everyone understood except General Shaw...

Ep. 163

Monday, November 25, 2013

Dr. Jim Sadler talked with Phil about the longevity of certain people and why they live so long. Dr. Sadler's mother lived to be 98 because, in his words, she was "a dirty, rotten, selfish, two bit......" (He trailed off) He also mentioned to Phil the topic of sleep and Phil's ongoing insomnia. The doc said sleep is "overrated" and that he heard of a guy who stayed awake for 7 days and he was just fine. A boiler the guy maintained blew up and destroyed a whole quarter of an amusement park he worked for but "no one died or was injured." General Shaw and the rest of the panel jumped all over Bud for his annual Bird Day tradition of "smoking a bag of weed and watching the 'Wizard of Oz' while listening to "Dark Side of the Moon.'
