Ep. 874

Wednesday, April 5, 2017

Work on our new website design wraps up. Here is the last of our glancing back exactly a year, this time to April 5, 2016. Does Donald Trump have something on Fox News’ Roger Ailes? Bud and Don Micksa have a clue (visit @TheBudDickman on Twitter to see the clue). And Phil talks with Jeff Dowdder about his new robot, Mary. We also hear Mary speak! Our BSP Classic Hour is from March 2006. Dave Oliva thinks women need to step up and quit half-assing the L.A. Marathon. Mavis Leonard calls in to disagree with Dave; she used to run marathons when she was in college.

Ep. 873

Tuesday, April 4, 2017

The show starts with an ‘ELCOTT: The Next Step’ segment as Dr. Elcott reviews the sex and gambling addiction that has slowed his progression to OverLord status. Then the panel talks with Coach Vernon Dozier who tells how a conversation with his brother-in-law lead him to drive his Mercedes GT straight into a wall. The BSP Classic Hour is from March 2005. Din Berman, news anchor, has just come out of alcohol rehab. He taped a major report on his troubles with booze but the station won't run it because there is still a lot of interest in the Terri Schiavo case. Don is resentful that every time he turns the TV on he's looking at Terri and 'her bucked out teeth.'

Ep. 871

Friday, March 31, 2017

Mavis Leonard is on her way with her driver Chuck to Carl's Jr. for a Sunrise Sandwich and talks to Phil about her new club, The Old Ladies Club of South Gate, where she will be speaking about the Mercury Space Program. Larry Grover is in Atlanta reporting on a collapsed bridge and Dave Olivia gets tossed by Phil because of his friend Davey's Chinese impressions. The BSP Classic Hour is from May 2002. Father McQuarters says not to blame the Catholic church for the molestation scandal. He says fondling a child is bad, but the press raking the Catholics over the coals amounts to fondling God himself.

Ep. 870

Thursday, March 30, 2017

Phil and the panel are back. Check out our new website look! It's another "As You Like To Hear Them." Today Sean Spicer is forced to tell the truth. They also interview Harvey Weirman on the subject of 40-year-old quarterbacks, everyone from George Blanda and Tom Brady to Dave "Wenceslas" Williams (who?). Also Bobbie Dooley on the annual Easter Drum and Bonfire festival at Western Estates. The BSP Classic Hour is from August 2001. Jim Sadler is a veterinarian who says cats are not as evolved as dogs because you can’t walk them. “A cat wouldn’t give you the sweat off its balls if you were dying of thirst,” says Dr. Sadler.

Ep. 869

Wednesday, March 29, 2017

With the launch of our new website rapidly approaching, we take you back one year, to March 29, 2016, and the time of the prehistoric unicorn, Karen Deauville and b******* bleaching. The BSP Classic Hour is from February 2000. Syndicated columnist Margaret Gray joins the program to talk about Valentine’s Day. Margaret says that as a woman she’s intimately familiar with the gifts women really want, like a gift certificate to an electrolysis center or anything having to do with mops.
