Ep. 292

Thursday, February 13, 2014

Another snow-out on the radio side but Phil and the crew persevered on Tune In and philhendrieshow.com as well as the BSP videocast. Among things discussed was the story of Barne Clancy, an Air Force buddy of Frank Grey's whose parachute didn't open during a training exercise. Frank was the first one to him but only found boots, a pair of pants and a shirt. Harvey Weirman and General Shaw talked about a new Belgian law allowing euthanasia for children. They both agreed that the reflex reaction any elderly person has to news like that is a 'lifting of the mood, as if the blackness of your world is brightened for a moment." There was also a problem when Margaret objected to the phrase "packing your chute".

Ep. 290

Wednesday, February 12, 2014

Phil and the crew did an hour long videocast only tonight as the radio show did not air due to inclement weather back east. Phil went off in splendid fashion on Sean Hannity and his "Jackson Comes Unhinged" segment. Samuel Jackson got pissed at TV interviewer Sam Rubin for referring to him as Laurence Fishburne over and over. Phil was pretty sure Sean wouldn't like being called Glenn Beck till the cows came home either but Bud didn't get it. Also there was a discussion of the overall health of radio with some behind the scenes discussed by Phil as well....

Ep. 285

Monday, February 10, 2014

Dean Wheeler feels its disgusting beyond belief that a young giraffe was killed at the Copenhagen Zoo for lion food but that won't stop him from chopping down an old growth oak tree in his backyard just to watch 3 squirrels that he believes have been giving him shit fall to their deaths on the rocks below... Brad Rivkind and Doug Dannger comment on Michael Sam coming out as gay. The college football player who will soon be entering the NFL draft had Doug endorsing a hard line: Anybody asks, tell them you're gay and ask them what they want to do about it. Rivkind's advertising agency is pitching clients on the idea of following Sam around on the sidelines with a camera to see if he does anything "gay." Frank Grey debuted his new podcast "I Remember Hollywood."
