…….. but I can tell you it was a tiring albeit relatively short day. Windy sucker too which made things a bit chilly. Usually people line up for breakfast first thing but for whatever reason I wasn’t all that hungry. Just sat in my traler and played with my iPhone till I got called to makeup. And with me its like they are painting a room! I get to work at 7:30 and we’re ready to go by 8 am. And then, like I said…a tiring day! See you guys back live tonight!

A Bit Question……
From the set of Maron today …..
Phil, Jim Ladd, our director Rob Cohen, writer Sivert Glarum, Frazier Smith
Arrived early on the set today (8:30 am but thats after driving an hour and a half from the Pacifico) We shot in another couple of grand old houses today in Highland Park. These homes, as I mentioned yesterday, are all not just pre-World WarTwo but just post World War One. They’re built in what was once called the California Bungalow style, an architectural design that, among other things, allowed the members of a household to literally sleep out on verandas during the summer. Anyway, we shot a bunch of scenes today and for those of you familiar with a couple of the guys in the picture above you’ll probably be able to guess at least the direction of the episode. Jim Ladd is one of the longest starring album rock disc jockeys in LA history, appearing on KMET, KLOS, KLSX and early on KNAC, Long Beach. Jim can be heard on Sirius/XM now playing music that is programmed only by him, the way its been for 40 plus years. Frazier Smith is a legendary LA morning man who originated, among hundreds of things, the term ‘party animal’ lifted promptly by Budweiser. Frazier has done mornings at KLOS, K-Earth, KMET and KLSX. He is also a stand-up comic working every major club in LA both as an MC and featured performer. I had a good time with these two remembering just how scummy the radio business has been and continues to be even as we work hard to try and find a few laughs in it! We shot all day till 8:30 in the evening. Two days with the ‘Maron’ crew and I gotta say they are terrific people in every way. They love their show and they work hard to make the guest performer feel as welcome as possible. Special thnaks to director Rob Cohen, a Calgary, Canada native and a great guy, full of encouragement and praise
Hey Everybody…Tried to post from the set today but it was BUSY….
An old Highland Park Victorian house
As you know I’m on an episode of Marc Maron’s “Maron” sitcom, a show covering Marcs world and amazing rise from podcaster to author to TV star. We are shoooting in an old part of LA, the area northeast of LA and just south of Pasadena called Highland Park. I love these old LA neighborhoods and one of the sets is a house that has to be close to 100 years old. By that I mean circa 1920’s. I’m not saying the people were smaller in the 20’s but I hit my head on a piece of ceiling coming down the stairs from makeup. We shot a scene as well on Eagle Rock Blvd at an Asian community center. Just down the block was a burger stand where the crew ordered some late night dinner for everyone, some damn tasty burgers. What happens is there is something called a base camp where we park our cars and where the dressing rooms are. Once you are changed into wardrobe you get taken to the actual set, so you are working once you get there. There was very little time today to stop down and blog or even take pictures which means I have to have my phone with me. That means either someone holds it for you while you are in a scene or you have it in your pocket which can be picked up by the camera or you put it in a bag and keep it in a “secure” place. With equipment getting picked up, moved around and packed into several different trucks, good luck keeping that phone from being loaded into the bottom of a crate somewhere. But I’ll give it a shot tomorrow. I was only in scenes today with Marc but tomorrow (an 8:30 am call time) there will be three more actors I’ll work with in the scenes we shoot. By the way, as I write this, at 10:15 pm PST, I’ve been home exactly 1 half hour. I got going today at 11 am. So like I said, it was BUSY. Talk to you tomorrow

Kenya: The Cradle of Man
Phil and the panel reviewed the Chris Christie/New Jersey/bridge problem and brought on Art Griego and Herb Sewell to discuss it but Herb’s past as a despicable felon and his lack of repsect for Art got both of them bown off the air early. Then came Dr. Jim Sadler fielding calls on DNA and how mans lineage is traced to east Africa. With this came incredulous calls from Austin Amarca (“No kidding?”) and Bob Green (“I just joined an Aryan businessman’s association. Can I get my money back?”)
Phil ended the show playing “Walk Like A Man” by the Four Seasons. Margaret commented that it had better not be dedicated to Governor Christie because people would read it as “Waddle Like A Man” and that would be “in poor taste.”

Sara Berneil, de facto chief of the furtive group ‘ The Old Ladies’
Ted Bell is in a legal battle with a very powerful group known only as “The Old Ladies.” Located in Beverly Hills these women are the widows of men who in their day wielded considerable power and amassed significant wealth. And “The Old Ladies” are gunning for Ted because of his slogan ‘we want to put our meat in your mouth.” Harvey Weirman came on board as well representing “The Old Ladies” one of whom claimed that Ted invited her “to a dark, shuttered and padlocked resturaunt” and proceeded to “slap his meat on a plate.” The Old Ladies” have demanded exhorbitant and humiliating damages!
