Ep. 153

Friday, May 24, 2013

Phil opens with show news and how things are falling together. A caller named Alf speaks a sort of gibberish that only Bud can understand (example; "The ribs at Roma will cause you to dump in the parking lot" means "Oh I really like your show, Mr. Hendrie"). Dr. Jim Sadler discussed Brad Pitt's bizarre condition known as Face Blindness. Sadler said he also has this condition and there are some mornings he gets out of bed, doesn't recognize himself in the mirror and so goes back to bed. Hours 2 and 3 were Best Of's as Phil had an early voice session in San Diego. See you next week!

Ep. 151

Thursday, May 23, 2013

Mavis Leonard joined Phil to sing "Lobotomy Blues," an old blues song that "came up the LA river from Long Beach with the colored actors." The subject came up because they were talking about Amanda Bynes and Frances Farmer, two actors that seem to be ready for "the hammer and spike." Doug Dannger, gay man and gay journalist got into the Joe Francis story saying that Francis was 'a real waste of 'straight.' Also Doug revealed that as a gay man and gay journalist he'll only have sex with other gay journalists. "After them I'll have sex with women but only really beautiful ones and then after them gay guys who do anything for a living. Don Doogan, dog trainer, talked about a little Border Collie lost in the tornado that was reunited with his owner. Don said people need to understand dogs better. To that end Don dresses in costume and goes to peoples houses to put on a show about dogs. "Wearing women's clothes completely separates me from civilization. I wind up staggering around in the snow in high heels."

Ep. 149

Wednesday, May 22, 2013

Tonight Bud Dickman continued his audition for NFL Films by practicing his narration with the official music. Bud's ad-libs drive Phil and the crew nuts, so much so that David G. Hall is called in. But he's at the Bosell pond putting the moves on his girlfriend Daphne and can't be bothered... Later Dr. Ron Tarner debates global climate change with educator Vernon Dozier. Tarner uses a kind of mocking baby talk to throw his opponent off but Dozier keeps asking if he needs his "MA-MA" and it proves to be an effective counter.

Ep. 147

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Tonight Bob Green from Frazier Foods discussed with Phil his admiration for a woman that survived the tornado in Oklahoma City only to express to CNN's Wolf Bllitzer her atheism. Bob said it took guts to "spit in the eye of God" that way. Pastor Rennick came on later to take the believers point of view and immediately began criticising the woman's baby for grabbing Blitzers microphone and for "trying to mess up Cooper Anderson." David G. Hall lambasted Phil for taking part in a tasteless stunt when he was a young man. David meanwhile was teaching his girlfriend Daphne how to drive....while he himself was driving the car...
