"Best Of" on the radio!

Tuesday, May 22, 2012

Bob Green reprises his "no corn on the cobb to people with jacked up teeth" policy, this time talking to a man who claims to have green-grey teeth and halitosis breath and who still insists on buying corn cobbs. Ted Bell with "a prominent" overbite also calls in to see if he'll qualify. "I'm Ted Bell. You're telling me I can't buy cobb?" Bobbie Dooley explains to Phil and his audience that she had to fire another illegal immigrant live-in domestic because she refused to wipe Bobbie's ass when Bobbie was unable to use her own hands due to wet nails from a manicure. Ms Dooley went on to say that there was no point in hiring American workers since "all they do is back-lip you." With Austin Amarca, Charlie LeFountain and Ralph.

Jeff Dowder was our commentator on news of the Van halen tour being cancelled. Jeff says the fans will just have to suck it up because "Van Halen has given more than the fans have taken and given back." He said Led Zeppelin, in comparison, was overrated. To prove his point, Jeff demonstrated the drumming techniques of John Bonham and Alex Van Halen. Dean Wheeler reported from Orlando his fear that evidence in the Trayvon Martin killing case may be misinterpreted. He said that a possible scenario is that George Zimmerman stopped "to take a leak, was shaking off when Trayvon said 'Excuse me sir can I help you with something," pulled a 50 caliber Desert Eagle, "went 'boom, boom, boom, boom, boo, boom,' then stood over the kid and said 'You just got shot in the belly. Hurts, don't it?" Dean thinks "that coulda happened too." With Lloyd Bonafide and Austin Amarca.

The show started with Harvey Weirman debuting a segment called "Legal Parameters." He was going to talk about a Chinese restaurant that charged people for uneaten food and the legal ramifications but he had a hard time pronouncing words like "Chinese", "restaurant" and "global." Debbie Daley, the hearing impaired host of the public radio morning show "Daley's Daily" came on the show to sing a tribute to the late Donna Summer. Because of her physical challenge Debbie had a hard time staying in key on the song "Bad Girls." With Margaret Grey and Frank Grey.

Steve Bosell did it again. This time is was Mary Kennedy. When he heard about her death he immediately went to his office to write Kennedy jokes for an MC gig at his church's men's club. He told one of them to his secretary who reacted "negatively and scornfully" to the point where a childhood trauma kicked in for Steve and he wet himself. He's suing for "emotional cruelty and loss of professional stature." Doug Dannger joined the show, discussing a new study thyat says some people hsave 'gaydar," an intuitive ability to know who is gay and who isn't. Doug told Phil he will physically assault anyone that says they have gaydar. Doug compared it to the "Inglorious Basterds" villain Hans Landa who claimed in the film he could "sniff out Jews." With Lloyd Bonafide.

Margaret Grey is excited to report that, in her opinion anyway, the Zodiac killer has finally been identified. This is based on her reading of a new book that claims the real killer is still alive at age 91, an alcoholic and living in Solano County, California. When Phil or callers ask her questions like "How many people did he kill" she says it's not important and criticizes Phil for being sexist and not taking her word for all of it. Dr. Ron Tarner joins Phil to discuss a Star Trek fan's claim that he can build a "Starship Enterprise" within 30 years and make it powerful enough to "planet hop." Dr. Tarner says he's tired of 'these people in rubber masks co-opting our culture and getting everyone excited about drivel that will never happen." He is endorsing TAT or Trip A Trekkie and he's going to their next convention in Vegas to do just that, hang around and stick his foot out when one walks by.

Colleen Cristin Brewster's travel agency, On the Go with Colleen Cristin Brewster, is featuring a Mother's Day Cruise, the "Easy Does Her" cruise, one that will cater to women who may have been abusive to their children and thus might not want to hear them complain now about it. Better for those women to enjoy an overnight cruise with Colleen and her brother Ben, both of whom were tortured by their mother. Vernon Dozier, high school teacher, talked with Phil about his uncomfortable feelings surrounding a "parents fair" and "parenting class" he was to teach during ther week leading up to Mother's Day. Vernon's own mother kissed him on the mouth everyday before school. Dr. Jim Sadler came on to try and talk with Vernon about his problem but was so enraged by a ringing phone behind him that he grabbed the nearest guy and "ran his head through that wooden thing there, whatever you call it."

Tonight we began with Bobbie Dooley, Margaret Grey, Harvey Weirman and Steve Dooley debating the recent Time magazine cover showing a woman breast feeding a boy of four. Ms Dooley and Ms. Grey agreed for the first time on an issue saying it showed a woman who "looked the world in the eye and said 'so what? What are you going to do about it?" The fallout for the state of North Carolina and its "vote" on gay marriage was the topic of discussion with West Virginia's Curt Queedy and Guy Barton tonight. Both men said it made North Carolina look "dumber than a mile of Georgia clay" while they were hitting on the waitress at their favorite diner.
