What happens when you text and drive It's flare drop time with Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police. Cell phones may be banned from use in cars because of a recommendation by the NTSB. Jay is running flare drops-traffic stops where flares are dropped so as to funnel traffic into one lane-and asking people who they are talking to on their cell phones and why. If the answer is unsatisfactory, Jay takes the phone and throws it like he's trying to hit home plate from centerfield. Will Jay survive this rash interdiction of normal human behavior? Are bears Catholic?

Ep. 186

Jay Santos and the Citizens Auxiliary Police react to new laws against cellphone use by "monitoring" people's cell phone calls so there's nothing "juicy" that could wind up ruining marriages. It happened to Jay's dad. From May, 2001.
Hour 1: Jay Santos is on to talk about President Obama wanting a civilian security force. Jay says his group was the first ones to do this. Jay sent out an email called Operation Neighborhood in support of Obamacare. He and his team are going to restaurants listening in on people's private conversations to make sure they are saying thruthful things about Obamacare. If they aren't he asks them for their ID. If they refuse, he will zip tie their hands. Hour 2: Jay Santos stays on for this hour. Hour 3: Brittany Murphy passed away over the weekend. Phil talked about how he worked with her on King of the Hill. A Washington DC detective is on desk duty for pulling his gun after he was hit by a snowball during a snowball fight, that was advertised on Twitter and Facebook. Then the stories we couldn't get to.

Nov. 1 1999  "Stankafacation" Jay Santos comments on the female rugby team that was suspended after posing for a nude team photo. Oct 14 1999 "Foot-long Marital Aides" Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police went into the house of one of one of his sub-commanders to perform a safety check and found a box of exotic sex toys. The Citizens Auxiliary Police was founded in 1996 by a Major Elvis Newton in Torrance, California. Newton, himself a shadowy figure with some past military association, is said to have handed down his idea for an aggressive civilian police auxiliary to Jay Santos, a neighbor, while sitting in a darkened living room, chain smoking Pall Malls. Organized loosely arouind the rank and leadership structure of The Federation of Planets, a ficticious entity from televisions 'Star Trek' series, the CAP says its mission is to "take a peek over the shoulder of the police." They view themselves as being "on the front lines of law enforcement" though they take they're only real authority from the legal concept of "citizens arrest." They're "official" uniform is a pith or safari helmet, a blue arm-band, bermuda shorts and wing-tips with knee socks. Among their various ranks are SubCommander, Brigadier Admiral (Jay's rank which seems to be second in command for the entire CAP) and the leaders rank of Major, held by Elvis Newton who hasn't been seen in public for many years. The CAP apparently has sister organizations throughout the United States. These include the Gator Brigade (Florida) The Beaver Battalion or Beave Battalion (Oregon) West Texas Range Riders (Texas)  and the New York State Simulated Police (New York) For a listener's idea of what Jay looks like, please see the caricature accompanying this article.

"Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police joined the show to discus 'The Frankenstien Stroll' and other CAP techniques that he would have employed in subduing the Miami 'cannibal.'" Show Log For Wednesday, May 30 2012Tonight Steve Bosell of Corona California joined Phil for a frank discussion of what effect the mauling of a Miami man had on Steve's psyche and ability to just get through the day. He told Phil and his audience he needs to "get away to a friends fishing lodge in Ontario, Canada to process everything." Vernon Dozier called to taunt Steve with the accusation that he needs his "MAMA!"Steve's hideaway Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police joined the show to discus "The Frankenstien Stroll" and other CAP techniques that he would have employed in subduing the Miami "cannibal" including one in which he would headlock the perpetrator and then twist his head from right to left "like in the movie 'In The Line Of Fire.'

Margaret Grey is promoting a new program which has celebrities call chronically truant kids and encourage them to attend school. Margaret explains that, of course, children in LA and New York are used to being around celebrities, but kids out in "the hinterlands, the sticks" would get a kick out of hearing from Larry the cable guy, Jeff Foxworthy and, yes, even Charlie Sheen. Jay Santos of the Citizens Auxiliary Police will be out and about this weekend with his sub-commanders to take peoples temperature on the Egyptian situation. If people like what's going on (Mubarak resigned) then they get "a tip of the pith helmet and we wish them a very pleasant and productive afternoon." But if they do not like the current situation then Jay says he directs them to "go dark on talk radio and Fox TV." If they say no they won't then Jay says yes they will and lets this retorting go on until the person takes a punch at Jay. "That's the best," says Jay "Because then we slam them to the cement and get their face right down into it so their mouth and nose are squished together."
