Aspiring LAPD officer Dave Oliva joined us in our first hour as some street activity was turning ugly outside the Staples Center, where the LA Lakers has just won the NBA title. Phil wondered openly where the police were with cars getting jumped on and fires getting set. Dave said that cops have to "weigh their options before they go in." Do they want to "go home because their shift is over or go ahead and help out." He also told Phil to be careful about flooring it to get out of there if he were stuck because he may find a crushed sombrero and poncho under the car and that means he ran over an illegal. "People'll think you're a Minuteman!" Steve Bosell also joined us this evening to tell us his daughter's middle school class has done it again. He has seen the light.  He though a little boy wearing toy soldiers on his hat was okay but his daughter and her middle school class, teachers and administration taught him what a warmonger he is. As Steve was being screamed at by one caller, his daughter passed him a question to ask the woman. "My daughter wants to know if, when you sit on your husband's chest..." Phil cut him off...but not before Steve cried for the scumbag that died in front of a firing squad last night in Utah.

Curt Queedy and Guy Barton from the West Virginia State Senate talked about President Obama tonight as a man having to deal with hysterical and pushy people around the BP incident. They warned that the harder you push a President, the slower he goes because he doesn't take orders from regular people. And besides, it's a good thing Obama didn't order equipment from the Netherlands because...hello...that's where Joran Van der Sloot is from and that's all we need, the Gulf full of butchering Dutch. Also guesting tonight was Shoell Heller, a writer for Inter, an energy blog. He said the comment by the BP chairman today calling the folks of the Gulf the "small people" was meant to simply say that "they are good people and hard-working people but they just don't matter." Heller said the people of the Gulf should stop "whining." "Look at us Europeans," he said. "We're Back in Black."

Professor Emory Clayton joined Phil to get to the bottom of why Obama is taking so much heat for the BP gulf leak. Professor Clayton pointed to what he called an unconscious tendency to link the "black" oil slick to the "black" president. He also worked in the Beverly Hillbillies "bubblin' crude" and mentioned a white professor at Cal State LA he's interested in dating, even though her views are opposed to his, because "she's built." As far as Obama's alleged slow response to the crisis, Professor Clayton said it was typical of whites to criticize black people for being slow and lazy just because they start their parties later at night, around 10pm. Later Bobbie Dooley came on the show discussing what almost was the "high-tech rape" of Abby Sunderland, being "pushed down on a make-believe pool table by make-believe guys and it was only the intecession of the make-believe bartender that saved her."

It's Abby Sunderland night on the Phil Hendrie Show. First off, high school teacher Vernon Dozier doesn't believe a girl has the strength to sail around the world... He doesn't think women are this inferior but he uses a comparison between humans and monkeys to say that men are humans in terms of ability and women are monkeys. "Sure, once a monkey gets near Africa he'll realize he's near home and make a run for it but that's about it..." Justin McCelroy, 17 year old student from LA Canyon High School believes Abby Sunderland is trying to make other teens look lazy and disorganized by attempting the solo sail around the world. "She's just trying to suck up to the adult political establishment. Other teens are dealing with global warming and meanwhile she's bobbing up and down, doing her nails and waiting for the French navy to bring her breakfast.." Joran Van Der Sloot joined Phil for an "As You Like To Hear them" interview.

Tonight, Rich Butler, a financial management guy in Boston who aspires to sail solo around the world, came on our show to apologize for saying he hoped Abby Sunderland drowned. Ms. Sunderland is the 16 year old girl who was attempting to be the youngest person to sail around the world solo before she hit rough seas near Australia. She is now awaiting rescue. Once Mr. Butler realized Ms. Sunderland was going to be okay, he came back on the show to say he didn't mean the apology...he really did want her to drown because he wanted to be on "the Wheaties box" and not her. Later Doug Dannger, gay man and gay journalist, joined the show to express his opinion that Helen Thomas was set-up. She was baited into saying those anti-semitic things by a Washington establishment that wanted to see her ruined. They wanted to stop her from publishing  a book on how she slept with Bush Sr., Reagan and Carter in exchange for giving them sound advice and being a good friend and confidante.

A lot of stuff tonight as Margaret Grey questioned the wisdom of Sarah Palin getting breast implants in light of the fact many of her supporters are right-wing Christians. Lloyd came on to say he will still vote for Palin but now for the wrong reason... he'll vote for her because he's aroused, not because he thinks she's a good or great leader... Jack Armstrong, liberal blogger believes Obama has now shown how strong a leader he can be by announcing sanctions against Iran. Jack told Phil he hounded a mutual friend out of a restaurant in St, Paul, screaming at him that BP screwing up will create more government regulation, not Obama... David G. Hall called in with listener Dr. Jim Sadler to correct Phil's pronunciation of Carly Fiorina's name....and then Phil got into it with Bud and Robert on a number of issues including whether teens should worry about having big parents or teen worries should be BIG AMONG parents...

Tonight, we had Bob Green of Frazier Foods on to tell us how he deals with employees sending each other pornographic photos or videos. Bob's ex-girlfriend used to send him graphic shots of herself until, as he said, he "dumped her." She then sent one to him by mistake meant for a new man. Bob said it was so graphic he wasn't sure what it was at first. "She really used the macro on that one." Bob got jealous because he "never got anything like that" that. So he decided to begin confiscating all the Smart Phones so no women could send a man a photo calculated to drive him "three quarters of the way out of his mind." Later on, it was Ted Bell of Ted's of Beverly Hills commenting on an arrest in Seattle over a so-called abuse contract. A man had his pregenant girlfriend sign a document that he thought gave him the right to beat her. Ted admitted that in the early eighties he gave waitresses who comitted infractions the choice between giving up 40% of their tip money or being slapped across the face. But Ted claims now to be a feminist and he supports "feminine" rights. Callers wanted Ted beaten by the fathers and brothers of the food servers.

We had Larry Grover come on tonight to briefly comment on the confession of Jaron Ven Der Sloot to murdering a woman in Peru. Larry doesn't know why it took some Peruvian cops to break the case when the Americans should have. Phil points out to Larry the Americans had no jurisdiction but Larry says they could have made a "jurisdictional request." Bullshit. Then Steve Bosell of Corona, California was interviewed by Phil. Mr. Bosell is suing a private swim club for not providing a swim suit that would stay on during a 50 meter race. Mr. Bosell engaged in an informal race with a friend at the pool and his suit slid down to his ankles. In order to "show Mr. Huggins (the friend) what he did to me" Mr. Bosell got out of the water with his suit half off exposing himself to the wives and daughters of both men. Also Mr. Bosell included in his suit memebers of both families for laughing at him. Later on, in our "As You Like To Here Them" segment, Helen Thomas told Phil she doesn't like Jews but she didn't know that was anti-Semitic and Sandra Bullock explained why, as one of Hollywoods loveliest and most talented women, she married into white trash.

Our show tonight featured a tribute to John Wooden, the late basketball coach of UCLA, sort of. Ted Bell sponsored the first hour and a half and was put off by all the praise pouring in for Mr. Wooden. "I invented the foil wrapped potato and yet people have more respect for a guy who taught 20 year old men how to put on socks." Chris Norton, telemarketerm adult film actor, aspiring porn producer and blogger joined the show to explain how it is Rush Limbaugh is marrying a woman who is "sort of hot" in Chris' words. "It mus' be abuse 'cause she woulda marrried a better looking guy with more sessual energy." When asked why Heidi Klum was with Seal, Chris said it was because Seal got scarred, in a rite of passage to manhood, "giving a beat down to a chimp in the high weeds outside his village."
