Ep. 49

Thursday, February 28, 2013

Tonight Phil talked with Ted Bell about football salary caps and a female kicker trying out with the New York Jets. But Ted's real topic of discussion was concerning how he was not being taken seriously as a sports reporter. When conversation swung around to how much a Ted cost at his restaurant, Ted blurted out "When Seth McFarland used to sell his ass down on Wilshire for the price of a Ted, his ass was worth exactly $9.95." Bobbie Dooley discussed Joan Rivers controversial joke about the Holocaust and Hiedi Klum's dress. Bobbie said that she and Steve used to be insensitive to the Holocaust as well "until we tried eating that box lunch on the way to Oktoberfest and suddenly felt ill." Bunch of other baloney...

Phil discussed with Father James McQuarters an 8th grade student recruited by Alabama for football but the good father was far more concerned with how quickly his housekeeper, Mrs Dunn, was getting groceries out of the car... General Gaylen Shaw joined the show and talked with Phil about Spetsnaz, the internationally reknowned Russian special forces unit. General Shaw was doing fine until he said that the British special forces service, the SAS, was also the famous Scandanavian airline... Bud, by the way not knowing the difference, booked a Mr. Wilson Burnett from "Spudnuts" the doughnut chain instead a guy from Spetsnaz. A bunch of other horseplay as well....

On tonights show, Phil battled a video feed constantly dropping as well as Doug Dannger and Margaret Grey arguing over Seth MacFarlane with Margaret saying he was "hysterically funny even though his jokes were degenerate, tasteless assaults on women and minorities. But yes, he was a scream...." Don Micksa from the University of Washington commented on Yahoo eliminating telecommuting in its workforce. Don applauds the move. "Now some of those people will be forced to deal with the reality that they actually work for someone and they are not 'independent contractors.' Bullcrap, says Don...

Ep. 40

Thursday, February 21, 2013

Phil brought on Steve Bosell, a construction contractor from Corona, CA who argued that the Mississippi Chamber of Congress should have let business people know that slavery was still, technically legal in that state. The Mississippi legislature had not yet formally passed the 13th Amendment to the US Constitution, one that was adopted by other US states in.....1865. Steve felt that as bad as slavery is, business people may have benefitted from having someone who would "do his bidding." Former jockey Little Ian Anderson came on the program to explain the English soccer organizational structure and how teams are promoted up through the ranks. He got into an argument however with Bud and Robert when they asked why teams with "cool names like Nottingham Forest" weren't higher up in the divisional pecking order. When they said that the name "Sherwood Forest" sounded "sissy" Ian said at least HE didn't have to go as far as England to find sissy's. "You lot is sissy enough,"he said. Plus other weird shit with Phil talking to himself...
